Former Cowboys, Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware retires

DeMarcus Ware is calling it a career.

The former Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos linebacker announced his retirement Monday afternoon on Twitter.

Drafted 11th overall in 2005, Ware spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Cowboys. The Troy alum then signed with the Broncos ahead of the 2014 season, eventually winning the Super Bowl as a key part of Denver’s stifling defence.

Ware racked up 138.5 sacks over 12 NFL seasons, good for eighth on the all-time list
