JUST IN: Whoopi Goldberg Leaves U.S Becouse Of Trump Presidency. How Would You Respond?

On Wednesday’s “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg denied she ever considered leaving the country if Donald Trump was elected president. The talk show host clarified a statement she made earlier this year about moving and bluntly insisted, “I’m staying.” Watch the video below.

“A lot of folks have said they were leaving over the course of these last couple of years if Trump got elected, and once again people assumed that’s what I did,” Goldberg said on the morning talk show. The misconception stems from comments she made on a prior episode, during which she stated, “The minute you start pointing and saying that person is a rapist and a murderer, it pisses me off because I’ve been part of that when they just use a blanket statement to talk about black people or when they use a blanket statement to talk about white people or women or any other group.” She added, “I don’t think that’s America. I don’t want it to be America. Maybe it’s time for me to move.”

But on Wednesday’s show, Goldberg asserted that she’s been “incorrectly lumped in” with other celebrities who had previously declared they’d flee the country under a Trump presidency. After playing a clip from a March 2016 show in which she first clarified she’d never leave the United States, the comedienne once again stood her ground. “I’m sorry to disillusion you, but I’m not leaving the country that I was born and raised in,” said Goldberg. “My family spent years trying to get the vote and trying to do all the things that we as Americans are allowed to do. We’re allowed to protest. We’re allowed to stand up and say we disagree.” She continued, “You don’t get to tell me that I’m going. You don’t get to make that decision for me. I’m staying.” Watch Goldberg’s full statement in the video below.
