Liberals often like to call people who disagree with them ‘privileged’ in order to invalidate their opinions. It is truly ironic because more often than not they are the cultural elitists. Billy Hallowell the author of the book “Fault Line: How a Seismic Shift in Culture is Threatening Free Speech and Shaping the Next Generation,” had a lot to say about ‘progressive privilege’.
He went on Fox & Friends and discussed how “there’s a big cultural disconnect” between Americans and journalists. He went on to discuss the differences between the average journalist and the average American. “Only 8 percent of journalists go to church every week,” he said, and at the same time 40% of Americans go to Church every week.
He went on to say that a lot of the time media bias is not overt. He said that “liberal journalists” are living in “liberal cities” while “assuming they’re moderates, when they might not be.”
“What we really have is a deep, cultural disconnect where journalists don’t even realize they have these biases. And so my message is, let’s realize there’s a problem here. The American public knows this,” he added, citing a poll that found Americans’ trust in media is at a historic low.
“Before Donald Trump — this is the point — this was a huge problem,” he said. “It’s not just the media, it’s Hollywood, it’s universities, there’s this ideological dominance, and we really have to look at this I think because free speech is sort of on the chopping block here.” Check out the interview below.
