Nine-year-old Elisa Salmeron was taking out the trash around 9:30 p.m at her Gresham, Oregon, home on Monday when she vanished.
According to KTVB, her family had asked her to take it out.
Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation (TriMET) video footage revealed that two hours later, around 11:30 that same night, Salmeron was standing on a Metropolitan Area Express (MAX) platform at 162nd and Burnside with a suitcase waiting for a train to arrive.
Gresham Police originally believed that the security footage showed an unidentified couple helping Salmeron buy a ticket. They now believe that three individuals assisted Salmeron in purchasing a ticket and boarding the train.
The group is seen de-boarding the train once it arrived at the 148th Avenue station and walking away going west.

According to OregonLive, Gresham Police Spokesman Officer Tom Walker said that the person who pulled the images from the security footage told officers that the encounter between Salmeron and the unidentified group “appeared random.”
The following day, the authorities received a tip that the nine-year-old was spotted at an abandoned home and immediately rushed over to the location.
According to KGW, Salmeron was found in the home with three other kids. It is believed that the other kids were also runaways. It is also believed that they had broke into the house to sleep overnight.
