Matt Damon is staring in a movie called ‘The Great Wall’. It’s a fantasy film about an alternate history to the building of the Great Wall of China using it to defend against monsters. The star of the film ‘The Great Wall’ said “I’m not a believer in walls” when asked about Donald Trump’s wall. Does he even get the irony?
“I believe that history belongs to the cooperators and nor am I of a mind that Mexico is going to pay for our infrastructure anymore than we’re going to pay for their highways, you know what I mean? That’s just not going to happen but, that’s where we are and we’ll see how it all plays out,” said Damon.
However as you can tell this is a pretty mundane reaction in comparison to many other celebrities. They are calling Trump’s wall racist and xenophobic, yet throughout history the Great Wall Of China has done a great job protecting the Chinese people.
Do liberals think that the Chinese are racist and xenophobic as well? “We’ve got to watch, but hopefully the people of Mexico understand that the people of our country, the majority of them don’t believe that we should be putting any walls up,” said Damon.
However this isn’t necessarily the truth. Many polls have showed that a majority of Americans do support the wall for security purposes. Why is a wall so controversial? Maybe when Matt Damon sees his own film he will realize the importance of walls.
