There are a few things President Donald Trump is famous (or infamous?) for. Firing people, unfiltered Twitter postings, and putting funny nicknames to his political opponents.
Regarding the latter, he was at it again during a meeting with 10 Democratic and Republican senators last week. For the entire meeting, President Trump refused to refer to Senator Elizabeth Warren by her real name, instead repeatedly calling her “Pocahontas.”
Politico reports:
“During the meeting, Trump also reacted to Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren being silenced on the Senate floor while trying to read a 1986 letter by Coretta Scott King and in objection to Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions before he was confirmed as attorney general.
“According to participants in Thursday’s meeting, Trump referred to Warren several times as ‘Pocahontas,’ the moniker he gave her during his campaign, and told the Democrats he was glad Warren is becoming the face of ‘your party.’”
Warren has repeatedly claimed that she has some (minuscule) trace of Native American blood in her genes, and so is therefore more qualified than everyone else in the world to address minority issues.
President Trump’s irreverent response to that is just perfect.
