Arguably the best show on cable news these days is “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Fox News, as the eponymous host routinely brings on progressive guests and confronts them with facts, logic and their own words, then sits back and watches them stew in a mess of their own creation.
TheBlaze reported that Carlson had on as a guest Thursday night Michael Brune, the executive director of the Sierra Club, a decidedly left-leaning environmental advocacy group, to discuss their increasing tendency to weigh in on social issues that have seemingly nothing to do with the environment, such as abortion and immigration.
After first noting the Sierra Club had taken positions opposing President Donald Trump’s policies towards immigration and abortion, Carlson asked how those issues were connected to protecting the environment.
After Brune first tried to avoid an answer to the question, Carlson pressed, prompting Brune to admit that abortion “helps to address the number of people we have on this planet” and reach a “sustainable population,” a nicer way of saying “population control” or that the number of people on the planet needed to be significantly reduced in order to save the planet. That’s a core belief of people-hating, eugenics-supporting, fundamentalist enviro-leftists.
Harkening back to Brune’s just-prior mention of his opposition to strong border controls, Carlson mused that given the U.S. population’s rapid growth, distinctly because of immigration, it would seem sensible for environmentalists to support tough immigration laws for the same reason as supporting abortion.
But Brune refused to acknowledge Carlson’s obvious point, instead playing to emotions by talking about breaking up families and Little League baseball.
Carlson moved on and asked how support for transgender bathrooms played into environmentalism, but Brune again dodged with a non-answer, prompting Carlson to ask, “Are you even listening to my questions?”
